From One Life-Changing Trip... to a Mission That's Just Getting Started

Hey, I'm Sean—founder of WeBookGuides and if you're reading this, I want to speak directly to you.

A few years ago, I took a guided fishing trip in Port Aransas, Texas that changed everything. It wasn't just about the fish—though we caught some incredible ones. It was about finding peace and direction when I needed it most.

That trip reconnected me with something I'd loved since I was a kid: fly fishing. Growing up, I spent summers chasing tarpon and bonefish in the Florida Keys. Life had taken me away from those waters, but that guide in Texas helped me find myself again. The passion came rushing back.

One Bonefish, One Guide,
One Mission

In my second year of guiding, I made the trip to the Florida Keys. That trip changed my life. On the same day, I did two things I'll never forget:

I signed up my first guide to the platform I was building
I caught my first bonefish—a dream I'd carried since childhood

That was the real first day of WeBookGuides.

That moment—standing barefoot on a flats boat, fish in hand, having just connected with a seasoned local guide—was when I knew: this is bigger than me. It was no longer just a personal journey. It was a mission. To create something that could help others live out their dreams, just like I had. And to give guides a platform built on respect, trust, and real opportunity.

Why I Built This

Like many of you, I've been burned. I've spent hours digging through booking sites trying to figure out which guides actually knew the waters—and which ones just picked up their first rod last week.

These platforms were cluttered, confusing, and most of them weren't even based in the U.S. I couldn't believe that an industry built around American waterways, legends, and fish was being run by people who didn't understand our culture, our guides, or our customers.

So I decided to change that.

I spent two years studying this industry, speaking to guides across the country, and documenting the problems they faced. I took notes, learned their stories, and mapped out the flows, functions, and filters that would truly change their lives. to create a platform that could do what no one else was doing—raise the bar for everyone.
